FPGA DMA board management

Detect, flash, and manage your DMA board

Sylnar Tool is the standalone Windows application for FPGA DMA board setup: detection, DNA reading, firmware flashing, drivers, and DMA speed testing. No Vivado installation required.

01 / Board management

One application for the setup workflow

Board detection

Auto-detect FPGA over JTAG and view the device name, IDCODE, and silicon DNA.

57-bit Device DNA

Read the unique Device DNA from supported Xilinx 7-series FPGAs and copy it for a board-specific firmware build.

Firmware flashing

Flash .bin files to persistent SPI flash or .bit files to volatile SRAM with erase, write, and verify progress.

Driver management

Install CH347 JTAG and FT601 USB3 drivers directly from the Drivers tab.

DMA speed test

Verify physical memory access and test DMA read speed from the same application.

Automatic updates

New installs check for updates on launch. The official latest release is always linked below.

02 / Quick start
01

Download and run

Download Sylnar.exe from the official latest GitHub release and run it as Administrator on the second Windows PC.

02

Install drivers

Open Drivers and install CH347 for JTAG plus FT601 for DMA data, then reconnect the board when needed.

03

Detect and copy DNA

Connect the DMA board over USB, select Detect Board, and copy the reported Device DNA for your firmware provider.

04

Flash and power cycle

Select the correct firmware for your board, wait for erase, write, and verify to finish, then power cycle the target PC.

Sylnar Tool supports detection and flashing across Artix-7 boards. Kintex-7 boards can be detected, but SPI flashing is unavailable. SylnarCore firmware compatibility is a separate check: currently 75T (XC7A75T) and 100T (XC7A100T) board classes.

03 / Sylnar Tool FAQ

What does Sylnar Tool do?

Sylnar Tool detects supported FPGA boards over JTAG, reads device DNA, flashes .bin firmware to SPI flash or .bit files to SRAM, installs CH347 and FT601 drivers, and tests DMA read speed and physical memory access.

Does Sylnar Tool require Vivado?

No. It is a standalone Windows 10/11 x64 application with no Vivado installation required. Run Sylnar.exe as Administrator for driver installation and JTAG access.

Which drivers does Sylnar Tool install?

The Drivers tab installs the CH347 driver for JTAG detection, DNA reading, and flashing, plus the FT601 USB3 driver for DMA data transfer and speed testing.

Where can I download the latest Sylnar Tool release?

Use the official Sylnar/NexusForge GitHub releases page. Current release: v1.1.39. Existing installations also check for updates automatically when launched.

Use the official repository for downloads and release notes, then check your exact SylnarCore firmware compatibility before flashing.
