What a second-PC DMA setup needs

Second Windows PC

A spare PCIe slot and a display or capture path.

Supported DMA card

An Artix-7 board that matches your firmware target.

Makcu input

The supported input device for hardware-driven control.

Capture path

A monitor or capture route for the second machine.

02 / Setup sequence
01

Prepare the second Windows PC

Use a second Windows PC with a spare PCIe slot and a display or capture path. This machine runs the Sylnar software; the gaming PC remains dedicated to the game.

02

Confirm the Artix-7 DMA board

Identify the exact DMA board, FPGA chip, and board layout before buying or flashing firmware. SylnarCore primarily targets XC7A75T and XC7A100T board classes.

03

Review BIOS and PCIe compatibility

Check IOMMU or VT-d / AMD-Vi, Kernel DMA Protection, PCIe ACS, Above 4G Decoding, Resizable BAR, ASPM, BIOS version, and slot lane sharing. Strict defaults are not an automatic incompatibility, but they do need review.

04

Connect input and capture hardware

Prepare the Makcu input device and a monitor or capture path for the second machine. Keep the gaming PC's display and input setup unchanged while you validate the hardware path.

05

Detect and flash with Sylnar Tool

Download the official Sylnar Tool release, install the CH347 and FT601 drivers, then use Detect Board and Copy DNA. Flash only the firmware built for your exact board and wait for erase, write, and verify to finish before power cycling.

06

Validate before purchasing

Confirm that the board enumerates in Device Manager, then submit the compatibility checklist with your motherboard, CPU, BIOS, Windows, IOMMU, and Secure Boot details.

04 / Setup FAQ

Why do Sylnar products use a second PC?

The second PC reads the game through supported DMA hardware and runs the Sylnar tooling. The gaming PC runs the game without the Sylnar loader installed on it.

What hardware do I need for a second-PC DMA setup?

You need a second Windows PC with a spare PCIe slot, a supported Artix-7 DMA capture card, a Makcu input device, and a monitor or capture path for the second machine.

Which DMA firmware should I install?

Use the firmware built for your exact Artix-7 board and FPGA target. SylnarCore primarily supports XC7A75T and XC7A100T board classes. Other layouts require a compatibility review first.

Where can I get help with BIOS or board compatibility?

Use the Sylnar compatibility checklist and open a compatibility ticket with your board, FPGA, motherboard, CPU, BIOS, Windows, IOMMU, and Secure Boot details.

Not sure about a board or BIOS setting? Check compatibility before spending money on firmware or hardware.
